Cody Wyoming is located in
the heart of Wyoming's Big Horn Basin on the Shoshone River. We enjoy
clean air, clean water, low taxes, great schools, and unparalleled
outdoor recreation opportunities. Cody is named after Buffalo Bill Cody,
the famous scout and frontiersman, and has a rich western heritage. Cody
is situated just a short drive away from Yellowstone National Park, one
of America's premier vacation destinations. Grand Teton National Park and
the resort town of Jackson Hole are only a short distance further away.
Cody is surrounded by beautiful mountains; the Absaroka Range to the west,
the Big Horn Mountains to the east, and the Owl Creek Range to the south.
There are thousands of acres of public land available for recreational
outdoor activities close by in the Shoshone National Forest, the nation's
first national forest. Bighorn National Forest and the Bighorn Canyon
National Recreation Area are only a short distance away to the east.
Traffic jams are unknown here...crime is nearly non-existent...and the
people are friendly. In short, residents enjoy a great quality of life.
